Isadora has been in a band with an otter, a crab, and a couple of people, but nobody has been a better band made than the Seagull. He has rhythm, pizazz, and quite a lovely voice. Isadora is delighted about the music they make together!

Greta has spent most of her life in one place. But there is a whole world to see, and Greta wants to see it! She feels restless for travel. But the prospect is also nerve-wracking and terribly exciting . But she contains her anxiety under a false display of inner peacefulness.

Alexander, an amateur inventor, has just created his greatest invention yet: the perpetual growing machine. Without any work, flowers just keep growing out of his machine. Since Alexander is a flower himself, it is like he is growing little friends for himself.

Jacqueline always felt she had bundles of creative energy stirring inside her. But whenever she tried to find a creative outlet she failed miserably. She tried learning the trumpet, but she never made true music. Only sounds of a dying goose emitted from her trumpet. She tried painting, but her canvas always ended up looking like a brown mess of paint. She tried dance, but she mostly tripped. When she discovered that she could create colorful stripes, she was quite delighted. Finally, an enjoyable creative outlet that she could excel at!

Adeline hoped for a casual stroll where she could get some fresh air and stretch her legs. She never expected she would witness a creature so strange and unsettling as the tree monster. Pearl's transportation use to consist of walking or driving around in her ostentatious gas guzzling shell car. But she found with subtle coaxing, she could convince some of the larger varieties of fish to give her rides. What a relief! No longer do her leg muscles ache from walking. No longer does her conscious ache from needless expenditure of gas.

I work on boats and I am always seeing all sorts of interesting things (strange boats, baby seals, river and ocean otters, beautiful jellyfish, baby ducklings, strange machinery...and really, a lot more.) I constantly wish I had a camera with me. I don't want to take mine, because I love it! And I don't want it to be ruined by rain (which is how I've ruined a cell phone) or by me accidentally dropping it into the water. (I've lost THREE portable CD players this way! All three of them had discs from audio books that I checked out from the library too. I cringe to think of it still!) Luckily, my boyfriend David has an old digital camera that he never uses anymore. (he'd rather us my camera too.) So I have been taking his camera to work so I can capture some of the things I see.
